Commercial Auto Insurance

Direct Locations Near You

Commercial auto insurance is one of the best ways you can help protect the business you've worked so hard to build. This type of vehicle insurance helps to safeguard your company from financial loss in the event that one of your business's light trucks, vans, or cars is involved in an auto accident. Depending on the laws in Tennessee and the type of business you manage or own, you may be required to purchase a commercial policy.

Commercial auto insurance isn't right for everyone, but you could be eligible for this type of policy if you use your truck or car to do activities related to your business or job. A commercial policy could be right for you if: you use your vehicle to transport goods or people for a fee; you haul or (tow a trailer hauling) tools or equipment related to your business; you have employees that drive company-owned vehicles; or your vehicle is titled in the name of your business.

At Direct Auto Insurance, we're committed to meeting the needs of your small business. While other companies claim that their one-size-fits-all policies will work for you, we don't. Our commercial auto policies can be specially customized to suit your business and your budget. With coverages like Bodily and Property Damage Liability, Uninsured Motorist, Medical Payments, Fire and Theft CAC, and more, you'll find the cost-friendly coverage options you want when you visit your local Direct Auto.

Changes to Tennessee Insurance Laws - What You Need To Know

Effective July 1, 2015, the fine for being an uninsured driver in Tennessee increased from $100 to $300 (and it's a Class A Misdemeanor). After January 1, 2016, law enforcement agents can take legal action to have your vehicle towed immediately if you don’t have proof of insurance. From now until January 1, 2017, the state of Tennessee will be creating and getting into place a new online system to verify drivers’ insurance. The system is designed to track down drivers who have not purchased valid insurance through their vehicle registration information. If the system finds that a vehicle is uninsured, the vehicle will not be eligible for registration renewal.
