Commercial Auto Insurance

Direct Locations Near You

A commercial auto insurance policy is an important part of protecting the business you and your employees have worked so hard to build. This kind of insurance helps safeguard your business from financial loss when one of your company's vans, cars, or trucks is part of an auto accident. You may be required to purchase a commercial auto insurance policy, but it depends on two things: the laws in Tennessee and the type of business you manage or own.

Commercial vehicle insurance isn't a good fit for everyone, but it could be right for you if you use your car or truck to do activities that relate to your business. A commercial policy could be right for you if: you use your vehicle to transport goods or people for a fee; you haul or (tow a trailer hauling) tools or equipment related to your business; you have employees that drive company-owned vehicles; or your vehicle is titled in the name of your business.

At Direct Auto Insurance, we're committed to meeting the needs of your small business. While other companies claim that their one-size-fits-all policies will work for you, we don't. Our commercial auto policies can be specially customized to suit your business and your budget. With a range of coverages including Uninsured Motorist, Bodily and Property Damage Liability, Uninsured Motorist, Fire and Theft CAC, Medical Payments, and more, you'll find the low-cost coverage options you're looking for when you visit your nearby Direct Auto.

Important Information Regarding Tennessee Insurance Laws

As of July 1, 2015, the fine for being an uninsured driver in Tennessee increased from $100 to $300 (and it's a Class A Misdemeanor). Following January 1, 2016, law enforcement agents can take legal action to have your vehicle towed on the spot if proof of valid insurance is not produced. Leading up to January 1, 2017, the state of Tennessee will be creating and getting into place a new insurance verification program, available online. Once implemented, the program will find uninsured drivers by accessing vehicle registration records. Vehicles that are owned by uninsured drivers will be ineligible for renewal.
